Travel FAQs
-
For our out-of-town guests: We recommend flying into Mexico City International Airport (MEX), either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, as they are the closest to the city. Felipe Ángeles Airport (NLU) is another option, but it is about 60 minutes away from the city center. Safe travels!

Yes, you will need a valid passport. American citizens do not need a visa for stays under 180 days. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check with your country’s embassy or consulate for specific travel requirements.

Uber is reliable and easy to use in Mexico City.
-
If this is your first trip to Mexico City we recommend staying in Roma Norte, Condesa or Polanco. These neighborhoods are beautiful, walkable and include plenty of restaurants, hotels, parks, and museums.
Our reception is in the Historic Center, we recommend taking an Uber from your hotel or Airbnb to the venue rather than staying nearby.
-
Expect warm days and cool evenings. We recommend layers or a light jacket.
-
The local currency is the Mexican peso (MXN). While many businesses accept credit cards, smaller vendors, street markets, and taxis often require cash. It’s a good idea to carry some pesos for tips and smaller purchases. ATMs are widely available and offer the best exchange rates.
-
Tipping is customary in Mexico. In restaurants, a 10–15% tip is typical, and you might also tip taxi drivers (if they help with luggage), hotel staff, and tour guides.
-
Mexico City is vibrant and bustling, but like in any major city, it’s best to stay aware of your surroundings. Stick to well-trafficked areas and avoid flashing valuables.
-
Avoid drinking tap water in Mexico City and stick to bottled or filtered water for drinking. However, it’s generally safe to use tap water for brushing your teeth. Most hotels and restaurants provide safe, filtered options, and ice in drinks is typically made from purified water.
